Dear Neighbor:
Imagine my surprise when at a few minutes before ten this morning I was walking to Foxhall and I see our porter outside.
Me: “Why are you here today, the office is closed?”
Her: “Chris never called me.”
Yup, there you have it. Our ever-competent Board and two-GM office team, focused on whether they need to come in today (although traffic seems to be moving fine for those lucky non-SP souls who can move their cars) and what kind of light refreshments should be served at the upcoming “reception” for the new GM, couldn’t be bothered to let our porter know so that she didn’t have to drag her butt here early this morning for no reason whatsoever.
I guess that would be the porter referenced in the below December 10 email from the “Sutton Place Management Team”:
“We are soliciting contributions for the holiday fund to the people who welcome us daily and the team that helps keep the community looking good by contributing to our community’s daily success. If you wish to contribute to the team in the guard house or the porter, please drop off any checks made out to Sutton Place Condominium at the office by December 19th so we can deliver them. Receipts will be given upon request.” [Yeah, make your checks out to the Association so they can pretend to be caring and big folks and maybe even take a tax deduction. – Ken R]
It just gets worse and worse.
